It's me! This is my personal blog.
This is a b2Evolution template written pretty much from scratch. Its one of my more graphical peices, definately a departure from my more minimalist works.
Ron Judd is an outdoors writer and columnist for The Seattle Times. He was coming out with a new book when I was approached to build his Web site. He already had one that looked like a 1998 gif had vomited on it, but he wanted something that looked professional.
This site is fairly simple, but includes more complex elements such as a Flickr-like photo page and pop-ups listing some of Ron's best columns. I also seamlessly integrated his web site with a standard Blogger page. It was built purely from the ground up.
As the Online intern, I was tasked to build new features of the Herald's Web site. This included the following:
- A page displaying traffic Web cams.
- Their RSS feed page.
- A widget built in Javascript that listed a different blog on the front page for each day of the week.
- Numerous other widgets.
My time there forced me to read and write in HTML, CSS and Javascript as well as I do English. Even though many of the things I did there were simple, it gave me the fluency I need to be a Web developer.
